What is a better combination than heavy metal and cheerleaders? How about heavy metal, cheerleaders, and zombies? By coincidence, that's just what Finnish band Lordi combined to win the 2006 Eurovision awards Saturday night.

Finally, Finland Finishes First

It was completely unexpected. Finnish heavy metal monster attired rock group Lordi walked away with a record setting number of points to claim victory with "Hard Rock Hallelujah."

Lordi's victory was almost a complete sweep of the 38 countries voting ... Every country gave Finland points, except for Albania and Monaco. Eight countries gave Finland the top mark of 12, six countries awarded 10 points and six more contributed eight points each to the final score of 292, the highest total in the history of the competition.
